Transnational health seeking strategies: a study of Latin American migrants in London

Much of the discussion around migration and health has focused on the need to ensure access to services for migrants once in their destination. Migrants often employ a broad range of health seeking activities, many of which depend on transnational networks. Drawing on interviews with Latin American migrants in London this paper examines the health seeking behaviour of a group of economic migrants and argues that there is a need to recognise the importance of understanding these networks in developing social protection regimes for migrant workers.
