Steve Hewitt is a Senior Lecturer in American and Canadian Studies. at the University of Birmimgham. His principle research interests are counterterrorism and terrorism, security and intelligence, anti-Americanism and Canadian history and politics. His most recent book is Snitch! A History of the Modern Intelligence Informer (Continuum, 2010). Other recent publications include The British War on Terror: Terrorism and Counterterrorism on the Home Front since 9/11 (Continuum, 2008); Riding to the Rescue: The Transformation of the Mounted Police in Alberta and Saskatchewan, 1914-1939 (University of Toronto Press, 2006) and Spying 101: The RCMP’s Secret Activities at Canadian Universities, 1917-1997 (University of Toronto Press, 2002).
