BIH Celebrates Laura Mulvey
The Birkbeck Institute for the Humanities has organised an afternoon to celebrate Laura Mulvey’s work.
The afternoon will begin with a screening of AMY! (Laura Mulvey/Peter Wollen 1982) followed by a discussion, also touching on some of their other films. Laura Mulvey will then give a short presentation focusing on her more recent work, ideas and interests with A.L. Rees (RCA); this will be followed by an ‘in conversation’ between Laura Mulvey and Catherine Grant (University of Sussex) about new developments in film theory and criticism, particularly the narrowing gap between words and images in film analysis.
Chair: Ian Christie (Birkbeck)
Programme:
Welcome and introductory remarks by Costas Douzinas, Laura Mulvey, Ian Christie and A.L. Rees
