Professor Nigel Tubbs (Philosophy & Education, University of Winchester) – Teaching in the Severe Style

‘Madness it is to hope that human minds
Can ever understand the infinite’
Dante, Purgatory III 34-5)
If truth in Hegel Contra Sociology is to be found in the logic and politics of abstract experiences, and if we can say this has something to do with education, then perhaps we can rehearse the severe  style  in  terms  of  pedagogy,  and  in  the  relationship  between  teacher,  student  and content.
