Adapting Diderot’s ‘Le Neveu deRameau’/Rameau’s Nephew
This roundtable will explore notions of edition, translation and adaptation (to new media, for new audiences). It focuses on one of Diderot’s best known, and most enigmatic texts Le Neveu de Rameau. Papers will present the new, award-winning, multimedia translation edited by Marian Hobson, translated by Kate Tunstall and Caroline Warman (Open Book Publishers, 2014) with Phoebe von Held’s 1998 theatrical adaptation.
