The Birkbeck Institute for the Humanities presents:

Bad Feelings: Launch & Panel Discussion

Launch of Bad Feelings and an open discussion on the themes of negation and negativity with speakers including John Cunningham, Danny Hayward, Esther Leslie, Nina Power and Marina Vishmidt.

Bad Feelings (2015) is designed, edited, typeset and generally mauled over by AAC, and aims itself towards existing discussions on negation, negativity, and a bottomless pit of negative emotions. The specificities and approach were left to each comrade to decide, and no set or defining argument can be found to run throughout. Despite some clear thematic concerns and constellations around which the texts coalesce – hate, struggle, rage, anger, revenge, negation, resistance, destruction – we forgo asserting any coherent narrative, manifesto, or position on the subjects. The texts, the contributors, the ideas, the aesthetics, and the arguments often disagree; and so do we. It eludes, remains uncomfortable, refuses when necessary, and will never settle.
