The Birkbeck Institute for Social Research presents:

Palestinian Childhoods: Human Rights, Mental Health and Resistance

The conference addresses the mental health of children and families in occupied Palestine, exploring the psychological and relational impacts of oppression and the denial of human rights. This focus on childhood will include experiences of arrest and imprisonment as well as children’s participation in Palestinian social and political life and their modes of resistance to occupation.

This conference is a joint initiative between CREHR (Centre for Researching and Embedding Human Rights), Birkbeck, University of London, and the UK/Palestine Mental Health Network. The event is sponsored by the Birkbeck Institute for Social Research and supported by Friends of Birzeit University.
