From the Archives: Searchlight and The Historical Radical Right

The Searchlight Archive has become a hub for post-war collections on the extreme right and anti-fascism, now containing not just the original Searchlight Collection (which now at c. 1000 archive boxes of material is one of the largest collections of its type in university hands in the UK/Europe) but now including material from Kent Anti-Fascist Action, material (primarily books and pamphlets) sent up from University of Southampton, material sent along from University of Exeter consisting of material and records from Exeter AFA, various collections from Andrew Bell on police corruption, Combat 18 and other investigations for Panorama/World in Action and on antifascism and student activism in Oxford in the 1970s, an Oral History collection of over 50 interviews with antifascists from a broad number of strands (everything from hard left SWP members, former communists and trades union workers through to QCs, Conservative Party figures and even musicians).
